Business Strategy Associate (Sales) at Alt Legal (New York, NY)

Alt Legal is a fast-growing legal tech company based in NYC. We’ve been recognized in Inc. Magazine, Bloomberg, Above the Law, and others. Our intuitive and automated software helps IP professionals create, manage, and analyze their trademarks and patents. Am Law 200 firms, boutique firms, and in-house legal departments trust our software to handle hundreds of thousands of filings daily.

We’re seeking a Business Strategy Associate who will work closely with our CEO and Revenue Manager to develop relationships with IP practitioners at leading law firms and corporate legal departments.

The role:

As a Business Strategy Associate, your responsibilities will include:

  • Engaging past and present prospects through phone calls and emails

  • Demonstrating the value of Alt Legal through a brief live webinar

  • Occasional refinement of sales and product knowledge through 1:1 trainings

  • Driving consistent revenue growth by managing the sales cycle end-to-end (including prospecting, pitching, qualifying and closing new deals and managing your book of business)

  • Navigate networks of stakeholders with varying seniority levels

  • Participating at industry events, including conferences, product showcases, and customer appreciation events


  • 1+ years of client development/sales experience, preferably in a B2B environment

  • Track record of exceeding business goals on a monthly, quarterly, and/or annual basis

  • Knowledge of the B2B sales process from start to close

  • Experience with online demonstrations, leading client conference calls, and writing client emails

  • Thrives as both an individual contributor and in a highly-collaborative team environment

  • Ability to recognize what you don’t know

  • Exceptionally strong attention to detail

  • Located in New York or willing to relocate

Bonus points:

  • Proficiency with Salesforce (or comparable CRM system)

  • Demonstrated interest in intellectual property and/or SaaS businesses

  • Highly organized with the ability to multitask

  • Experience running demos and how to pitch value of SaaS platforms

  • Good sense of humor
